Tell Us Is Occupy Wall Street an Example of Ingratitude - Work It Daily
Tell Us Is Occupy Wall Street an Example of Ingratitude - Work It Daily Recently, a reader sent a link to this video by Bill Whittle where he suggests that the protestors behind Occupy Wall Street are really just entitled children. WARNING: If you choose to watch it. Be prepared. Itâs a pretty intense point of view. My question to you: Is there any truth to his presentation? He offers a very interesting perspective regarding the evolution of our society and how it has made us all become detached from the amount of work that goes into making our lives easier and more convenient. More importantly: Could you survive three and half days in the wilderness as he suggests? Would it make you appreciate what you have more? I think the bigger issue is how prosperity effects society. Are people wrong to expect and demand things they feel entitled to because theyâve A) always had them, or B) were told they deserve them? (i.e. a college education = a great job). And, how can we teach people to cope with the new reality? Millions of people are unemployed and/or underemployed. They arenât homeless and starving, but the anxiety and depression they are feeling is very real. Is Bill's tough love approach of leaving you in the wilderness for three and half days the answer? If not, what is? So tell me CAREEREALISM readers, what do you think? Post your comments below. J.T.
